30 Days to build a Bookshop: Day 18

The guys were going to clear the shop rubble today but cancelled as they thought things might be a bit busy in Mount Florida due to the football. I’m stalled for stuff to do for the next few days until it’s all gone so in the morning I had a little iPhone photo shoot so I could upload some more amazing author perks to the crowdfunder.

I am very excited to announce Kirstin Innis as our first confirmed event at the bookshop once we’re open again. Fishnet is an excellent book and by all accounts Scabby Queen is too, I look forward to getting stuck into it this weekend.

Over the next two weeks we’ve also got author perks from Eimear McBride, Jarred McGinnis and Evie Wyld so keep your eyes on the twitter for more Klaxon alerts.

I headed down to Pollok Country Park For a little walk and that place is so damn pretty. Had a drink at the tea rooms and wandered round the walled gardens for a bit. This seemed like it could count as work as I was *actually* heading to Homebase to pick up some shop supplies.

At the Pollokshaws Homebase I picked up a shelf bracket and some rust-oleum enamel spray in Spa Blue. Before ordering hundreds of brackets and shelves and spending over 2k, I wanted to see if they could be sprayed and prettied up some. I also picked up some wine gums, wood, and tea cakes before heading home. I’m still pretty stumped for stuff to do until the shops cleared so the weekend updates might just be pictures from my time off.
