Join authors Yara Rodrigues Fowler and Xani Byrne to discuss their contribution to the cycling memoir anthology Freewheeling.

It tells the story of Yara and Xani's two-day tandem bike ride from Edinburgh to Newcastle. The cycle was inspired by Xani's 2023 'Tandem Against Suicide' project, an 88-day tandem cycle around the UK, each day with a different person bereaved by suicide. The essay explores bereavement and suicide directly in the piece, as well as indirectly; the essay writing and tandem ride themselves being exercises in trust, collaboration and newness.
