Join us as we celebrate the launch of the newest issue of Wet Grain with readings from Christie Williamson, Medha Singh, Gentian Rhosa, Samuel Tongue, Juana Adcock and Esraa Husain

Wet Grain is an annual print magazine for new poetry in English. Since 2020, the magazine has included the work of emerging poets alongside recipients of awards including the Pulitzer, a MacArthur Fellowship, the Pushcart Prize, the German Book Prize, and the Eric Gregory.

Each issue, selected poets are invited to contribute a short piece of commentary on a poem included in the issue. They also publish interviews and flash essays. Covers feature commissioned etchings and are hand-printed, making each copy an original print.

SAMUEL TONGUE’s collections include Sacrifice Zones (Red Squirrel, 2020) and three pamphlets: The Nakedness of the Fathers (Broken Sleep, 2022), Stitch (Tapsalteerie, 2018), Hauling-Out (Eyewear, 2016). Poems have appeared in different places, including Magma, Poetry Wales, Finished Creatures, Perverse, and Banshee Lit.

GENTIAN RHOSA is an artist and writer working with text and sound. Their research spans deaths studies, ecology, ritual and communal forms of exploring grief. Their poems have ap- peared in From Glasgow to Saturn, Brave Dog and SPAM.

CHRISTIE WILLIAMSON is a Shetlandic poet, essayist and translator based in Glasgow. His debut pamphlet ‘Arc o Möns’ won the Calum MacDonald Memorial Award. Two full length collections of his work have been published by Luath Press – Oo an Feddirs (2015) and Doors tae Newye (2020).

MEDHA SINGH is a poet from Delhi, based in Edinburgh. She is a winner of the New Writers Award 2023 (Scottish Book Trust). Her debut collection, Afterbody, was published by Blue Diode in 2025.

Juana Adcock is a Mexican poet, translator, and editor based in Scotland. Her collection I Sugar the Bones (Out-spoken Press) was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection 2025. Her latest translation is Laura Wittner's Translation of the Route (Bloodaxe Books).

ESRAA HUSAIN (any/all pronouns) is a freelance creative writer, community organiser and researcher based in Glasgow. Their PhD is in migrancy, political agency and decoloniality in Black Scottish literary studies at the University of Glasgow. Esraa’s writings are published on- line and in print in Skinny, Gutter, Somewhere for Us, The Bottle Imp, Kohl لحك, Scottish BPOC Writers Network and more.
