Join us for the launch of Tom Byam Shaw's debut short story collection, You Are Going To Regret This.

Haunted forests in a car park. The Hollow Earth Theory, but for real. Maglev trains across a broken world. Crabs!!!! In these sharp (New(er)) Weird tales, individuals descend into eremitism while eldritch forces amplify the base depravity of the elite. But it's not just total breakdown – bleak comedy and radical politics, dreams of a better way to live, always glimmer beneath the cracked surface.

Tom Byam Shaw is a writer working in Glasgow. He obtained a PhD in creative writing from Aberdeen and Curtin University in 2024. His writing interrogates the intersection between the mundane, the limit, and the occult. He has performed literature at Re-Analogue, Paris Lit Up, Spoken Word Paris, Speakin’ Weird, and Inn Deep. He has words in Re-Analogue, Suma Lima, and Mycelia. 

The reading will be followed by an author talk and Q&A, hosted by Ian Macartney (Editor-in-Chief of sincere corkscrew.)
